Mandatory decommission of a system?

Dear Administrators,

I've had system XXX, which was later deleted and a new system wast copied into it's place (YYY with system rename to again XXX)

the system XXX was connected to solution manager before being deleted. After system copy and renaming I just performed a few steps to connect it back to solman (for MOPZ etc.) all that was needed to do was to create a user and assigning him certain authorization (because the connection was still present in solman_setup in solution manager).

The connection seems fine, however my question is  -> was that a safe thing to do ? Can I leave it as it is, or should I perform decommission of the system and later again connect it to Solution manager again ?

I'm trying to find any note that would convince me either way, can You please me help me on this case ?
