Error Creating Web Service Notification User (Tech. Monitoring in 7.1)

Hello,

We are working on configuring Technical Monitoring in Solman_Setup in our production system and have come to a roadblock that we do not know how to get around. We have successfully implemented SolMan 7.1 on this production box and are currently using it for our change control management. So, we do have most of the 7.1 configuration completed and functioning.

In section 2.4 Configure automatically, the step called "Create Web Service Notification User" has an error:

Detail for the error log:

It seems the user in question is SM_EXTERN_WS which already exists and is functioning, as far as we can tell. Something in the activation of the earlier steps in Technical Monitoring must have triggered some communication that is not working and thus this step is not working, but it is not clear what I need to do to fix this. I have looked at a number of OSS Notes and have been searching SCN and google for help, but haven't found anything that seems the exact same situation. But, I did find the following:

One note I looked at is: 1663549 - "Unsupported XStream found error"  but I don't think it is a complete match to our situation.

Another one was: 1752309 - "Web service invocation problem caused by Unsupported xstream found"  and this note says that in SMICM, we should have the following entry: "'Default root access handler = AS Java'". I am not positive that this related, again, so I did not implement these recommendations.

Please let me know what we can do to correct this error so we can finish configuring Technical Monitoring.

Thank you,

John
