Solution manager update

Hi

 

I have installed new solution manager. What I must do at first? Must I do initial configurations or update to sp13(What is the initial version how can I check it?). Is there any guide how to perform update. With solman I have downloaded package 51049441 (SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.1 Support Package 13). Is this the source that I need?

BW process chain monitoring - Sending alerts to Mobile

Need steps or some documentation around on how to send Process chain monitoring alerts to Mobile. We have completed configuration of BW process chain monitoring and alerts can be be sent to Email.

Functional team also wants to receive these alerts on Mobile.

DVM & EWA Status

I am configuring DVM for a couple of systems and am having an issue in step 8 ' Activate DVM Extractors' .  My EWA status is red yet I get EWA reports for this system.  In addition, all my extractors are running successfully so I am not sure how to resolve this error.

How to disable PPF action in WebUI before RfC is first saved

How can hide an action before RfC is first created and saved ?

 

Here is my scenario. My RfC is suppose to move from Created --> Validation. The action to move from Created to Validation is Set Request for Change to "Validation". When RfC is first saved, Change Manager PF is automatically determined using IBase and when above action is chosen, an email is sent to Change Manager. Everything is working as expected if I do this in two step i.e. 1) Create the RfC, then 2) chose action Send RfC to Validation


But, if I combine both steps in one since actions is already available even before RfC is saved, the email is not sent to Change Manager, because the Change Manager partner is not yet determined.

 

How can I hide the action until RfC is created and SAVED? The action has below Schedule Condition. I am wondering what is the status before RfC is first saved? I assume E0001 is set after RfC is saved? If so then why is this action active and visible in WebUI?

Connecting BIA system to Solution Manager system

Hi,

 

I have done managed system configuration for ABAP as well as JAVA system. But now we have a BIA system P11 connect to a BI system P06 . The requirement is system monitoring of BIA system and it is not yet connected to SLD also. Can someone guide me how to start and proceed step by step.

Import via ChaRM (status dependant) very slow

Hi Experts,

 

currently we struggle with a weird Situation and we already tried to reproduce it, as for the Status dependent Import to our pre-production System we had a Import runtime of >24h for only 300 transports (Production and hotfix Systems needed 2h for the same transports).

 

Now the different cases, the first one is the one we try to fix:

 

1. ERROR CASE (Pre-Production System)

- Import to R01 triggered via Solution Manager (ChaRM) ~300 transports

- Import strategy = Status dependent Import (which causes an Import subset within TMS)

- Result = Import runtime > 24h

 

2. Simulation of "Import Subset" (Hotfix System)

- Import to ER1 (Hotfix System) via TMS (not ChaRM) selected the same transports (~300) as for R01 (ERROR CASE) - Import subset was performed using TMS

- Result = Import runtime ~ 2,5h

 

3. Simulation of "Import Subset" (PreProduction)

- We expected the same behavoir as for 1. ERROR CASE, but the runtime was significantly better as for 1.

- We added all 300 transports again to the queue

- Performed "Import subset" using TMS (not ChaRM) -> Also set the flag "Import Transport request again"

- Result = Import runtime ~ 2,5h

 

Now the questions:

- Whats the difference between a triggered subset via Solution Manager and the Manual selection of transports and starting the subset via TMS? -> As an additional Information: If the Transport is triggered via ChaRM, all selected transports are marked with the Import Status "T" -"Import Running" within TMS so i thought the involvment of Solution Manager ends with sending the Information of transports which shall be imported and the tp starting command...?

 

- Are there any open communication between SolMan and the managed System (e.g. updating Transport Status (RC=0) for the tickets in Solution Manager during the runtime and for each Transport which could cause such a runtime...?

 

-Something has changed but we are still searching the root cause (The Import for case 1. was working, but now gets slower and slower with each Transport which is performed- see graph attached)

 

Hopefully this is not a random behavoir and you Can bring light in this Situation.

Hide org. units / support teams in CRM UI / ITSM

Hello,

 

is it possible to hide specific support teams in the ITSM for users with a specific role?

 

The scenario is the following:

 

User 1 can dispatch an incident to org. unit B, because org. unit C is not visible to him in the CRM UI.

User 2 then (after checking) can dispatch the incident to unit C, because this unit is only visible to his usergroup / role?

 

Is there a way to achieve this?

CHARM link between incident request for change and change document

Hi Experts,

 

I am trying to find a way to extract report which shows link between Incident-->Request for Change --> Normal change, Urgent change etc.

 

After reading this thread, I tried to execute the function module but I am not able to get the document numbers after inserting GUID number in the input screen of this FM.. Can anyone please advise how should I get the output like Incident-->Request for Change --> Normal change, Urgent change etc. by running this function module or do I need to do some perquisite steps before executing this FM ?

Job monitoring - get joblog details

Hi

 

I´m trying to config the Unified Job Monitoring in Solman. I have created a scenario and the alerts are coming into Solman showing me that a job is failed.

 

But i cannot find any place where i can see tha actual content of the Joblog?! Of course i can log on to the managed system, navigate to SM37, enter the jobname and check the log - but that´s too crazy right?

 

So what is wrong - does anyone know how i can retrieve the joglog content into Solman?

Technical Monitoring Grey Metrics

Hi Guys

 

After setting up Technical Monitoring in a Customer Landscape, SolMan is displaying grey metrics for host and Central Instance

 

Solution Manager is SPS13, I have updated Note to latest version, applied latest Diagnostic Agents from SWPM 1 SP8, all configurations are in green status, restarted agents, but still getting the same error

 

When i Check in metric i get message Configuration XML 7.01.02.20150922194238 likely did not reach the agent . Agent XML:

 

Performed steps as detailed in note 1854525 - "Configuration XML <nbr> likely did not reach the agent" - Solution Manager 7.10

 

 

Any idea whats could be causing this?

Hi Experts,

 

In System Preparation --> Connect Diagnostic agents --> Getting a message " No Diagnostics agents currently registered in SLD".

 

But I can see all the diagnostic agents are up and running, in Agent Administration Tab.

 

What could be possible solution, Running the SMD Scripts at OS Level??

 

Any Pointers to resolve this issue will be of great help.

ChaRM: Reassign Change Document

Hi

 

We are on Solman 7.1 SP12 and are trying to reassign a change document (ZMMJ) to another project.

 

It works fine for me but I have a high level of authorizations.

 

For other users of ChaRM, they click on Edit (in CRM Web Client) > Reassign Change and then a search box appears.

 

However, when they click on search they cannot view any projects (when I click search I can).

 

I've searched everywhere online but can't find what authorization is missing.


Can anyone help?

Creation of Solman Project from template

Hi,

 

In order to create a solution manager project for ChaRM. currently I am creating it from the SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN transaction and then manually adding the logical component, creating the img_project, activating ChaRM, manually creating the tasklist and the maintenance cycle.

 

In cases where many projects are being created manually, the user would like to save all details like for example the logical component etc in a template and then have the projects created based on this template.  Is this possible and if yes how can we do this ?

Interactive Reporting - Host Availability

After implementing Technical Monitoring, and metrics working Im still unable to display Host Availability in System Reporting

 

I have two different customer landscapes I have implmented recently and neither of them have this activated.

 

Is there a customizacion i have to perform in templates?

idoc types/BAPI to be used to integrating with SolMan ITSM

can you please suggest what Idoc types and BAPIs I can use to be able to create/update incident in SolMan from External system? I need bidirectional communication. So as ext system triggers the incident create/update in SolMan also any updates in SolMan's incident triggers message to external system.

Getting error in managed system configuration

Hi Experts,

 

I am in Solution Manager 7.1 SP8, step Managed Systems Configuration .The Managed system is ABAP server.

am facing issue in configuration Automatically face.

 

1)When click display for introscope Host adapter it is showing message like:

To enable OS metrics to be collected, this activity sets up the CA Wily

Introscope Host Adapter on the Diagnostics agent..

 

2) for Generate system-level metrics it showing message like:

This activity enables the CA Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager to aggregate
performance metrics on the system level.

 

and this system is in cluster environment.

kindly suggest on this.

Charm Change Request Status

Hello

 

I tried to look at the forum the inquiry I am about to make but I haven't found anything, that's why I am starting a new discussion, if there is already a discussion / forum topic on my question, can someone point me to it? So, let's go for it:

 

There are many changes on Charm which transports are implemented, pre-prod or Production, whether via Import All or Daily Imports, and the status on Charm does not reflect the transport status. If transport status is pre-production, Charm status should be Acceptance Testing or Pending Prod Import; if transport is implemented in production, Charm CR status must be Alignment or Closed.

 

Now my questions: Is there some kind of automation functionality that changes the Charm Change Request status based on the transport status?

 

Another inquiry: Does Charm allow any kind of automation capability? If I try to record any script at SAP, it does not record the steps on Charm (because it's on Internet Explorer).

Issue in Managed System Configuration

Hi Experts,

 

We are facing an issue in Solman_Setup --> Managed System Configuration in Step 4 --> Assign Diagnostic Agent as below.

 

Our Solman details :

 

Solman 7.1 Sp12

 

 

 

 

Installed DAA in both Solman (sapserver1) and Managed system (sapserver2) and tried to connect with both, but no luck.

 

Any resolution to move forward will be greatly helpful..
