Upgrade from Solman 7.1 SP6 to Solman 7.1 SP11

Dear Experts,

 

We have Solution Manager 7.1 SP6 and we are planning to upgrade it to Solution Manager 7.1 SP11.

 

I would like to know the impact analysis to our existing configuration because we are using charm in our current set up.

 

Impact analysis in terms of which support pack would be affected during this upgrade and how should we proceed for it

 

as per standard practice.

Hi experts,

 

 

While creating follow up document( ZMHF from ZMIN ), categories fields are coming blank.

 

 

I checked copy control, categories column is selected but still its not coming in follow up document

How To create a custom Task List in SAP solution manager

Hi Expert,

I activated in my sap solution manager the Transport Management (no charm) and It works fine. Now I would like to create two custom task lists to assign to two different users. The first task list should contains the tasks  for the development and test system instead the second task list should contains the tasks for the production environment. I sow that in the spro there are the following actions.

Ithink that the above actions could be used in order to create the new task list, correct?

Now I would like to understand  if and How I can assign the task lists to the two users.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

Mopz while creating throws error ERROR: An exception occurred (termination: RABAX_STATE)

Dear

We are trying to create mopz through solman_workcenter it throws error

500 SAP Internal Server Error

ERROR: An exception occurred (termination: RABAX_STATE)

 

we are try to login through

http://hostname.domainname:8001/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/wda_mopz_plan?sap-language=EN#

which i got from smicm  icm/host_name_full

icm/host_name_full             = IDOLMAN.asinfra.com(example)

 

and st22 dumps are as follws

An exception occurred which is explained in detail below.

The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SOCM_NOT_IMPLEMENTED', was not

  caught and

therefore caused a runtime error.

The reason for the exception is:

If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to

find an interim solution in an SAP Note.

If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following

keywords:

 

 

"UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION" "CX_SOCM_NOT_IMPLEMENTED"

"CL_CHM1_CHANGE_REQU_INSTANCE==CP" or "CL_CHM1_CHANGE_REQU_INSTANCE==CM0

Error in MOPz

Hi Experts,

 

We are trying to generate stack xml file for installing ECC-SE 605 on ECC 6.0 EHP 6. we are using SOLMAN SP04. when we select the add on and give next, it is showing the below errors,

 

ABAP Queue Check FAILED with SY-SUBRC '2'. Result status 'Error during calculation' ('E').

 

OCS package SAPK-602AGINECCSE does not match the current software component vector

 

Can anyone please suggest on this.

EEM Question

Hi !

 

We wish to record end user transactions for say a month or so, to depict patterns in user/system behavior, address user/performance issues proactively, educate users in case of user mistakes etc....something like what AppDynamics does.

 

EEM scripts may not really serve our purpose since the script runs only for a particular duration / as per the parameters in the script; whereas, we wish to capture "all" that a user does in his 8 working hours.

 

Is there a way we could use EEM to our advantage.....

Or is there some other way we could achieve this.....

Please do help advise.....

Charm affected because of new client copied from 000

Hi,

 

I´ll try to write correctly the problem we are facing.

Some coworker have installed a new Solman 7.1 SP11 where CHARM will be configured for a customer and as ussual he also created a different productive client 100 using a copy as per SPRO instructions where he used 000 as source for customizing and 001 as user master source. He also ran System Settings and Basic settings complete under Solman_Setup and everything is green as it should be.

 

The other coworker who is going to do the CHARM customizing for the client told us that the client copy should be complete from the 001 (customizing and master user) because that is the cause for a problem that she experienced before in another project and now in this one, the problem is like this. When doing a search at General attribute Maintenance there is nothing found:

As you can see there is nothing found during Organization Unit search but there is data in the table:

What I told them is that IT Service Wizard should be completed before but as I have never implemented CHARM in this version I´m not sure so they copied the client again from 001 (customizing and users) and it is all there now:

Could some guru explain us what is the correct way to follow?

Managed System Configuration

Dear Team,

 

While doing managed system configuration for AS JAVA system (only used for BI JAVA) we are getting error as "Solman System prerequisite are not met" ST-A/PI 01P_700 is not installed.

 

When Checked in Solman system ; However the ST-A/PI is higher version than what is asked for. It has version of ST-A/PI 01R_700.

 

Our solman is at 7.1 SPS 08

 

Please suggest how to go ahead.

CBTA Self Check not responding

Hi All,

We are configuring CBTA on SolMan 7.1 SP 11 we have applied all the patches as per the compatibility matrix. SOLMAN_SETUP is completed for CBTA. SUT is an SAP ECC 6.0 systems.

 

we have a problem in self-check of system data container it doesn’t respond.

pls. see the below screeen shots:

Linking Incident & Maintenance project

Hi All,

 

We are doing VAR support for our customers. As we are handling the entire IT support for our clients, we are having Maintenance project created against each. Requirement is to identify the Incidents related to the Project. I have noticed that while creating Incident(Web UI), there is an option to capture the project details (as below). The projects created are showing in the pop-up when we do value help. My question is where to look for the stored value to pull a report and is there a way to default the project based on the Requester(Key user) who creates ticket?

 

we are handling "Request for change" transaction as well for major enhancements. please log your input.

 

SLA - error "No item category could be determined"

Dears,

I'm trying to configure a simple test  Sla scenario,  as described in the usefull blog:

 

Incident Management: SLA configuration hints for SAP Solution Manager 7.1

 

sure the better place to post this message should be the blog itself, but for an unknow reason I'm not able to add  a comment on it.

 

Anyway I executed all the steps suggested in the blog.

 

Now when I run crm_ui  I select the Businnes Role, then  the system propose me the Transaction Type I created.

But these errors  appears while compiling the incident fields:

 

"Details Item 10: No item category could be determined.

Details Item 10: Conversion factors are invalid"

 

The error  seems to me related to the step " Item Category Determination" but I'm not able to find out what's wrong:

I see one rows with

 

Transaction Type : ZMIN

Main Item Categ:    SRVP

Item Category :       SMIP

 

And one row with:

Transaction Type : ZMIN

Item Category :       SMIP

 

It seems to me the same as described into the blog; surely I did some mistake somewhere else.

 

Any advise ?

Automatic Assignment of Project ID in SMCR

Hello,

I would like to have an automatic assignment of the PROJECT ID (Maintenance Project) in the Change Request (SMCR). We have the IBase information in our SMCR under block Details (under relationship). I have created a rule policy to fill out the project id according the IBase but this is not working.

What could be a solution?

My rule which is not working unfortunately is:

 

If  Reference IBase Equals
"1055"
Then Set Project ID ( Set Project = "DEGE_M_01" )

How to assign a system to a solution for EWA in SAP Solution Manager 7.1 Solman 7.1

Hello Dear experts,

I am trying to create and generate an EWA Early Watch report, I am configuring a Solution Manager 7.1 since scratch and now I am in the Managed System configuration - Early Watch Alert Management.

I know that in order to get the report the system have to appear in the systems and it has to be assigned to a solution but there is not appearing..

Maybe there is some step that I missed and I have to configure but I don't know which one.

MOPZ: Selection for alternative software component BI CONT is not correct

Hi @all,

 

I had a problem with Solman 7.1 in MOPZ, after choosing SAP_BASIS, BI_CONT and othe components for patching.

 

My satellite system is ERP 6. EHP7 and it is full SLD connected and verified with the landscape verification.

 

Any ideas ?

SMDT test cases - not able to link from SM_CRM

hi experts

 

we are creating SMDT test case incidents from SM_CRM. the test packages are created from STWB_2.  if the test case failed , then we need to create the incidents relating the test case.

 

when we create incidents using the transaction type SMDT , we are not able to link the test case from " Related Test case " block .

 

we are getting the below error

the procedure followed

 

1. create the test plan by including the business process.

2. Created test packages and assigned it to the developer

3. developer made the test to " test failed "

 

Please help with solutions.

Embed Images in Technical Monitoring Email Attachment

Hello everyone,

 

I am searching for a way to change the LED indicator images to be embedded into the attachment received from automatic notifications in Technical Monitoring rather than links to the MIME repository.  To expand on the issue I'm facing, when receiving the email when off the company network, it is sometimes difficult to determine the metric that is causing issues based purely on the list of values.

 

I have provided a simple example as an attachment to this message where the indicator LEDs are missing when off the company network.

 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you for your time.

While Configuring EP system with SOLMAN 7.1 SP12 it is giving below message in self Diagnosis Phase.

1. Solman system is already having ISAGENT version 8 and 9 installed (but Managed system is having 8)

Automated Installation of the Introscope Agent via SMD

The Solution Manager provides an application that performs the setup of the Introscope

byte code agent for Java automatically. This section explains the steps to run the setup.

Before you can run the Introscope agent setup, the setup wizard for the managed system

must have been executed.

Managed Systems Configuration  Step 7 Configure Automatically  Automatic

Activity “Byte Code Adapter Installation”  “Open Java URL” (only available in edit

5. Check the Enterprise Manager Settings at the top of the screen. These are the

connection parameters that will be used by the agent to connect to the Enterprise

Manager.

6. In the pane Introscope Agent Setttings, select the system that you want to instrument

with the agent. Check “select all” and click “Retrieve Current Settings”. This will display

the current status of the agent setup.

7. To initially setup or update the agents, click Setup Introscope Agent …. This will open

the setup dialog as shown below. Select the desired agent version (by default only one

available) and choose the profile. Next, check the desired instrumentation areas, and,

in the case of AIX, review the AIX settings to match your environment (J9 or classic

mode).

8. Finally, hit Apply to perform the necessary changes in the agent configuration. Agent

config files will be adapted and the Java VM parameters will be set as required for the

managed system.

Hi All,

 

We have a multi-wave program with continuous releases and parallel development across all 4 solution verticals (heterogeneous landscape) i.e. on the external intefaces and Presentation Layer (EP), Integration layer (PI), SAP applications like CRM, ISU & BI and 3rd party applications like Documentum, Streamserve etc. We are currently evaluating tools that can be used for release and change management across the entire landscape as part of the Configuration Management program.

 

We've identified 2 Solutions/Tools:

 

1. Solution Manager's CHARM funtionality along with CTS+

2. Realtech TransportManager

 

If anybody has worked on a similar kind of evaluation, I need your help in comparing the features of both the tools and identify their pros and cons.
