We just upgraded to Solman 7.1

One thing I notice more and more frequently is that 2 people can be in change mode for the same transaction. This happen intermittantly and is not always the case. Just this morning me and my colleque who is sitting next to me, both could be in "change" mode in the same transaction. When I exitted and tried to access the transaction again in change mode, Solman, issue a message that the transaction is open by my colleque.

I tried searching SAP support, did not yield any results, (unless I am using wrong search terms)

Anyone notice this and know if there is a problem and a fix for this.

We tried to setup SolMan 7.1 internal BW for the first time according to all the possible SAP configuration documents we could find including those in many existing related threads. RSA1 datasource node Solution Manager 0SM_SMG_ROOT/0SM_SMG has only 12 active data sources. Most of them, for example 0SM_DSWPBI_PERF, didn't extract any data. Error message is "No data available in the source system for this selection".

Although many infoObject _TEXT or _ATTR datasources were activated, many are still missing, for example, 0BPARTNER_HIER. There are many activated infoCubes and DSOs, which have no downward data flow defined due to lack of corresponding active datasources.

Can anyone show us:

1.  How to find more SAP delivered data sources?

2.  Why didn't existing data source find data?

3.  Should all the BW extraction transformation process objects pre-exist and be defined with the downward and upward flows?

4. Whether we have to develop our own customized data source, transfer rules, update rules and etc.?

I have installed SAP Solution Manager 710 and applied SP08.~

Now, I am performing the configuration phase.

In system preparation, I have already done the following stepes

1-create Users

2-Check Installation

3-Implement SAP Note

All the above steps was successfully done.

I am stucked at Configure connectivity--> 4.4 Set Authorization Policy for Agents.

When I go to Agent Administration, it displays a page without agents.

Can you please help me to activate and view the installed agents so that I complete this step successfuly.

Hello, I have solman 7.1  SP08  on hpux box . it has SAPJVM4.1   patch 16 and I want to upgrade to latest patch 33, I downloaded and unpacked it .  Oss notes say to use SUM to update  , So I have  latest version  of SUM .  When I run  SUM and get to the part where it wants either a stack configuration file n XML file or a manually prepared directory.  I select the manual  directory ,but what file (or directory ) do I point it to from the sapjvm 33 patch I  expanded?  Everyone I try gives me an error.

I've configured VAR ServiceDesk in SolMan 7.01.

OSS-messages are successfully transfered to SAP and back.

Trying to configure now e-mail notification about message status change for reporter/processor.

Everything is done according to manual, except for the support team (we use two BP's with e-mail addresses provided):

TA SPPFCADM -> Application CRM_ORDER -> Define Action Profile and Actions -> Action Profile SLFN0001_ADVANCED -> made a Z-copy from action SLFN0001_ADVANCED_MAIL, parameters as in manual -> Save

TA SPPFCADM -> Application CRM_ORDER -> Condition Configuration -> for action profile SLFN0001_ADVANCED I've added recently created action -> created scheduling and starting conditions -> reaction on different statuses -> Save.

But when I create a message and change statuses in it - on "Actions" tab no Z-action appears that I've created.

No e-mail notification in SOST.

P.S. SCOT is configured.

What maybe the problem?

in my Change Request ZMCR I use the approval Procedure SMCR0001, but instead of the Change Manager Function which is normaly used for approval, I do use an own Z-BPFuction Called Change Coordinator ZDCR0011. Which is also configured in the Approval Procedure. Sadly, when I fill in the BP in the header of the Ticket and choose the approval Function, the BP is not copied into the approval assignment block. When I connfigure the procedure to use the Change Manager it is working.

Does anyone have any Idea, why it is not working with Z-Functions?

Recenlty I downloaded CCN 1652693 (ver.38)  through Solman_setup and when Clicked on the sap note assistant its directed to SNOTE screen.

when i checked the notes status , it shows Completely implemented ,Finished.Dont know why the status shows completed without executing impliment note from Snote.

Please guide how to impliment the note again with lastest related notes.Now i have downloaded all the Latest Notes using Sap note browser /F8 .But the status of Central Correction Notes is Completely implimented.

I just installed Solution Manager 7.1 on Linux and DB2. Though all the web-based transactions, like

solman_workcenter are not working.

1) I managed my local hosts file

2) I enabled all the /sap/bc services in transaction SICF

3) I googled, that it is necessary to setup the Solution Manager using the transaction solman_setup.

I tried to do it, but an IE window pops up prompting me to login (via popup). Afterwards, I am getting

the following error:

I went again to SICF, but I don't have an entry, called sap under /sap/bc/webdynpro. And everything in

/sap/bc is activated anyway...

We have activated the system monitoring for the satellite systems, also the auto notification feature is active.

In the system monitoring setting (configure manually->content customization) we have activated the required metric.

In the alerts many times we are not getting the metric section (in host metric monitoring ex IO Alert,paging details, in Database monitoring  ex reads per user call). Any Solution!!

HELLO SAP community,

I have yet another situation which requires the expertise of users with more knowledge than I posses. I am in the process of setting up a new Solution Manager 7.1 system. We run SAP on two kinds of servers, AS400 and Windows. My current task is to set up Diagnostics Agent 7.3 on all the hosts we run an SAP system on. I finished installing Diagnostics Agents on my AS400 systems but I have run into something while working with one of our Windows systems.

When I set up the diagnostics agent I made sure to include all the info about the sld I wanted the system to be connected to.

I noticed something was wrong first when I went to do the Managed System Configuration through solman_setup. We have two SAP systems on the host uksapmiiprd, an abap system and a java system. I started out with the config of the the abap system. Once I got to the step Assign Diagnostics Agent I realized something must be wrong with the agent I installed on this host. In the Agent Assignment tab, when I choose Assign, there are no agents on this host to choose from.

I continued to the next tab on this page, SLD Agent Candidates, I see that connection to uksapmiiprd has failed... Makes sense then why the previous tab seems to think there aren't any Diagnostics Agents on this host.

Crazy think is that when I select uksapmiiprd and try to connect it, the pending symbol will be on screen for a little but, but it goes back to connection failure with in several minutes.

I also took a look at the Agent Administration tool. This screen shot is from the agent administration tool. As you can see I am getting the message "Agent Version Differs from LMService" and further right you can see I am getting a status of deploying applications. Under the application management tab, if I try to deploy applications to the agent on uksapmiiprd I get a bunch of errors about how the host can't be found. Under the application viewer tab I can see there are only 6 applications associated with the agent on host uksapmiiprd, but agents on all the other hosts have like 36 applications.

Since I realized something was wrong with this particular diagnostics agent I started researching but didn't find a whole lot to go on. I am a novice at best when it comes to SAP as a whole so I have little idea where to look for the answers. I read a suggestion to look at the diagnostics agent troubleshooting guide, but I just didn't see a fix. So I guess what I would like is some help figuring out why this diagnostics agent isn't connecting to the solution manager correctly, or maybe an explanation as to why the Agent version differs from LMService. Which seems strange to me since I have this same version of Diagnostics Agent on another Windows host and there aren't any messages about the agent version differing from the LMService. Please direct me to any logs I should be looking for, or any documentation that exists which would assist me. If I can not resolve this within the next few days I will probably just try to reinstall the Diagnostics Agent, but I would prefer to just fix the one I have. Thanks for all the help in advance.

There is a requirement where I need to set up a BPMon monitor over Purchase order created with a certain header status eg status "98". I tried to find a monitor in the PPT that details the list on monitors. Could not find it. Can this be done.

I'm trying to add a system to CEN via RZ21.  The procedure requires to input the password of the OS user (<sid>adm) on the monitored system.

However, the local <sid>adm user does not exist.  Instead, we use a domain user ID (domain_name\<sid>adm).  Also, the User Name field seems to be fixed or can't be changed.  Is there a way to make this field changeable so that I could input the domain? If it can't be changed, how can I add a system to CEN given this situation?
