CSOL behavior with one DEV feeding multiple PROD

I'm a fan of CSOL and find great value in it even if we do not use Retrofit.  However, one of our system landscapes is more unique than the others we have, and I'd like to get expert advice before attempting to activate CSOL for said system.

 

I have a ChaRM Project with one Development (Source) feeding four QA (target) and four Production systems.  Here's what the Logical components look like (with fake SIDs):

 


1) DEV/100 --> QA1/100 --> PR1/100

2) DEV/100 --> QA2/100 --> PR2/100

3) DEV/100 --> QA3/100 --> PR3/100

4) DEV/100 --> QA4/100 --> PR4/100

 

So let's assume I activate this against DEV/100.  When I create a change, would it reserve a lock in all four Production systems (so, four different locks)?  And I assume it would delete each PR* lock as it's imported to that respective Prod system.  I would assume there would be a CSOL warning until the change has been imported to all four Production systems, correct?

Ariba (SAP Cloud) system to be Connected/Accessed from SOLMAN

Dear All,

 

We have a requirement  on connection of  Ariba (SAP cloud system) to SAP Solution Manager, Solution Documentation Configuration.

 

Please let us know

1)      How to do configuration/connection for this setup ?

2)      How to connect this Ariba system to Solution Documentation.

 

Right now our Solution Manager Version is : SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0.

 

Please update on the earliest if anyone have idea on this

Hi everybody i have a question , in sap solution manager 7.1 sp12  when i try to create a solution in SAP Solution Manager Administration->Solutions->New, i create a new solution and i get the message Creation of solution <solution name> with language E was successful, however, no solution is created , i alredy tried to refresh ,and still not showing the new solution ,what could it be? where can i see a log of solution creation?

Usage and Procedure Logging (UPL) - Authorizations

Hello Solman experts.

 

We are settign up UPL from SAP Solution Manager to our SAP CRM system. The managed system (CRM) does meet the UPL prereuisites and I have installed the necessary notes and ran SOLMAN_SETUP for UPL.

 

However, we are still not getting any data into our UPL InfoCube and the job /SDF/UPL_PERIODIC_EXT_JOB running on managed system fails with the following data in job log:

 

  • No authorization to use SCOV LITE
  • Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE

Does anyone know what auth objects/roles are required on managed system side for UPL to run successfully?

Problem with service profile (diff. time)

Hi all!

Help me please with problem.

By SLA our working hours on Friday are from 09:00 to 16:45, from Monday to Thursday are from 09:00 to 18:00.  In service profile we have made settings:

It works fine, but last Friday was a holiday (calendar is active on 2015, settings are correct). In many incidents SLA was calculated without this holiday. I repeated this problem in SM0. If I change working hours for Friday to 09:00-18:00, SLA will work fine.

For example (the same settings in response profile – 12 hours for very high priority; different settings for working hours)

SUM Java stack error : iiopServicePorts while migrating to Solution Manager 7.1

Hello,

 

We are running a SUM update on our Solution Manager and Java stack is failing with this error : while trying to load from index 2 of an object array with length 2, loaded from local variable 'iiopServicePorts'.

 

Logs attached.

 

Does some have an idea to solve this error?

sap charm RFC has confirmed accidentally and not able to change charm status of dependent change document

Hi Experts,

 

We are using CHARM 7.1 SP11 and we have a situation where Request for Change document has confirmed accidentally and there is one charm document in satus approved for production with 2 changes. While trying to change status of this CD we are getting the attached error and we are not able to change its charm status to In production as its RFC has in status confirmed.

 

Is there any way to resolve this and move the changes of the above charm document into production. If not what would be the best resolution for this how can we move that CD changes into production and what should we do with the CD charm status?

 

Also how can we make sure that RFC's status should not be changed to CONFIRMED untill and unless all its dependent charm documents statuses are in INPRODUCTION.

Solution Manager losing its diagnostics agents

Dear experts,

 

I would like to discuss a little bit on this issue and just gather your opinions. Last week I gained another

portion of weird experience with our Solution Manager 7.1 SPS 12. On, maybe 1/3 of our systems, the

diagnostics agent had disappeared from the managed systems configuration. Sometimes I came to know

about this, because the system status in the managed systems configuration had changed to red, on some

systems it was still showing green. Just right after opening the system and clicking on the Assign Diagnostics

Agent step, that step would immediately turn red and next to the host, I would see a yellow 'Find Agent' button.

On most of the systems, I managed to reassign the agent again, but there were 2 systems, on which no matter

what I did, and even after waiting 20-30 minutes, the agent just didn't get assigned again, so I went to the

Marketplace, downloaded the latest SWPM and kernel 7.20 (as a standalone agent installation seems to be

no longer available), deinstalled the old agent, installed the new one, and then - the agent would IMMEDIATELY

get reassigned correctly !!
So, I would kindly like to ask you:

1) Did this happen to anyone else, or I am the only victim of this behavior ?

2) WHY is this happening ? Like, do I need to recurrently check for agents that went missing and reassign/

reinstall them ? Not that our landscape is very big, but I have been working on Customers with hundreds of

systems - to check this on a monthly basis for all the systems is an enormous piece of work...

3) Is there a way to reassign stubborn agents, without reinstalling them ?

4) What to do, in order to prevent Diagnostics Agents from going missing ?

Transition from SLFN to SMIN

Hello,

 

how can I do the transition from SLFN to SMIN?

I want to have the possibility to process existing SLFN messages until they are closed and I want to restrict the way of opening messages only to the new transaction type SMIN.

I read that this is possible via authorization but is it possible to do it only in a technical way? To set in SolMan "if creation of a new support message use always type SMIN"?

NOTIF_CREATE: missing SAP components

Hello,

 

when I create an incident in managed system the incident correctly shows up in ITSM of SAP Solution Manager with all fields filled except for the SAP component ("invalid SAP component").

 

For example when I use FI-AP-AP-IC in managed system which is not avaibale in solution manager. I checked the tables dswp_csncomp and dswpcsncomptxt, but this specific component isnt there. The background job for fetiching the components from SAP is disabled, because it is not a productive system. So I ran the report DSWP_GET_CSN_COMPONENTS manually, but with no luck. Incidents with components which are maintained in these tables are working correctly.


Any suggestions?

How do I approve a transport request with cCTS?

Hello,

 

I am prototyping ChaRM with cCTS enabled. I have a transport of copies that I want to move to the QA system. However, the approval is missing. I cannot figure out how to approve the request. Has anyone done this before?

Test Management Reporting

Hi Experts,

 

I have below queries, please let me know if there is solution for same :-

 

1. If you extract report from Solman_Workcenter, I can get get Support Messages created if I click on Message Overview for each Test Plan.

    Can't we get report that we can export to Excel where all test Plans/Packages are present and their corresponding Support Messages created. I dont'      want to select Test plan one by one and then get its corresponding message.

2. In similar way can't I get all Test Packages report associated with Test Plans. i don't want to select Test Plan and then click on Status Overview to get Test Packages.

 

3. We have created Defect Correction from Incident. Now that Incident number is appearing in Related Incident field in Defect correction in header in Relationships tab but this field is not available in Search criteria. Why ? Can't we get this field to list of all Defect Corrections created by giving Incident number is input.

 

4. Test Packages are linked to CDs and Support Messages/Incidents are linked to Test Packages. So can't we get report like all Support Messages/Incidents created along with their corresponding CDs in ChaRM.

Enquire prerequisites installation in solution manager

Dear Expert,

 

I have doing the prerequisites check before install solution manager. For first red message, could you advice if I need to install the environment variable in local policy or group policy? For second and third message, is that need to re-install window version? Do I need change host name?

 

My system environment:

 

Windows Server 2012 Standard

Installed Oracle 11.2.0.3

Support Team Determination and E-Mail using Mailforms

Hi there,

 

is it possible to use mail forms in connection with support team determination in SolMan 7.1?

 

I configured Support team determination with BRF+ and it sends mails, but using smart forms. In action definition AI_SDK_DETERMINE_SUPPORT_TEAM there is no parameter for mail forms. Is there any chance to use mailforms in this context?

No content for SAP Download Manager on Windows 7

Hello

 

I'm working on windows 7 and installed the latest download manager version 2.1.140.  proxy host is setted.

According to the installation guide, the java version requirement is 1.5 or higher.

During the SDM installation, in the java path setting screen, only the java version 1.5 or higher can be selected.

 

I also installed j2sdk-1_4_2_06-windows-i586-p.exe, but this java version could not be selected during download manager installation.

But if I using java version 1.7.0_45, no content in SAP Download Manager and no error message is displayed.

I tried compatibility mode (windows vista sp 2 or windows XP sp3) for SDM, it also not work.

 

How did you set java version for SDM on windows 7?

Mopz rfc error

Recently i added my sandbox to solman (lmdb) ,read rfc conection and authorization  fine.but when i create stack file in mopz getting erro "RFC destination is not available to get switch framework information"  .Kindly advice .thanks

My messages assigned to me in CHARM

Hello All

 

In the CRM UI home screen, my message -assigned to me is not showing the details

 

In the solman development system, the details are being shown in the "My message- Assigned to me" where as in the production system we are the facing the issue

 

I tried to implement the Snote recommended by the SAP but still no use.

 

Any inputs would be highly appreciated.

Preliminary Import Approval - how to stop it changing status if error

Hi

 

We are using Preliminary Import functionality for ZMMJ in Solution Manager 7.1 SP12.

 

I have setup config so when Preliminary Import is approved, it will release the transports.

 

However, sometimes we are getting this error:

 

"Request XXXXXXX cannot be released due to open conflicts".

 

The error is actually expected because we are using CSOL and there is open conflicts so that is fine. The issue is the status still updates to "Preliminary Import Approved" even though the release failed. Then we are stuck as there is no way to release the transports via ChaRM.

 

To get around this, I have tried setting up some config to say if this error appears, the status doesn't update. It would stay on "Preliminary Import Requested" instead of changing to approved. But I'm struggling to get this to work.

 

Really hoping someone can suggest what I should do to get this working.
