Transition from SLFN to SMIN

Hello,

 

how can I do the transition from SLFN to SMIN?

I want to have the possibility to process existing SLFN messages until they are closed and I want to restrict the way of opening messages only to the new transaction type SMIN.

I read that this is possible via authorization but is it possible to do it only in a technical way? To set in SolMan "if creation of a new support message use always type SMIN"?

Solution Manager losing its diagnostics agents

Dear experts,

 

I would like to discuss a little bit on this issue and just gather your opinions. Last week I gained another

portion of weird experience with our Solution Manager 7.1 SPS 12. On, maybe 1/3 of our systems, the

diagnostics agent had disappeared from the managed systems configuration. Sometimes I came to know

about this, because the system status in the managed systems configuration had changed to red, on some

systems it was still showing green. Just right after opening the system and clicking on the Assign Diagnostics

Agent step, that step would immediately turn red and next to the host, I would see a yellow 'Find Agent' button.

On most of the systems, I managed to reassign the agent again, but there were 2 systems, on which no matter

what I did, and even after waiting 20-30 minutes, the agent just didn't get assigned again, so I went to the

Marketplace, downloaded the latest SWPM and kernel 7.20 (as a standalone agent installation seems to be

no longer available), deinstalled the old agent, installed the new one, and then - the agent would IMMEDIATELY

get reassigned correctly !!
So, I would kindly like to ask you:

1) Did this happen to anyone else, or I am the only victim of this behavior ?

2) WHY is this happening ? Like, do I need to recurrently check for agents that went missing and reassign/

reinstall them ? Not that our landscape is very big, but I have been working on Customers with hundreds of

systems - to check this on a monthly basis for all the systems is an enormous piece of work...

3) Is there a way to reassign stubborn agents, without reinstalling them ?

4) What to do, in order to prevent Diagnostics Agents from going missing ?

ChaRM - error Urgent Change

Hi, colleagues!

We have problems when creation of urgent change in Change Request Management (Solution Manager 7.1 SP12).

At creation of urgent change (ZMHF) from request for change (ZMCR), we receive an error of "There is no active task list in the assigned project".

In SLG1 at this moment we see error:

"The error at creation of the plan of problems of H000000009, transaction is cancelled"

"Error the record table /TMWFLOW/PROJCTC".

In system try create number which already is will be created.

 

Permissions of SAP_ALL.

I closed the project and I created the new.

The first inquiry was created normally. And successfully I moved. The following with the same error.

 

How to correct this error?

ITSM and Support Messages in ECC

Messages open in the ECC by menu Help -> Create Support Message are created in the Incident Management but with the classification Support Notification.

 

We need the tickets opened in ECC are automatically classified as Incident.

 

 

What setting should be performed so that the messages open in the SAP ECC are automatically opened with the classification "Incident" in ITSM?

OS Process Monitoring - No extractor data available, extractor likely did not run at all

I am facing issue while configuration os process monitoring. I could see OS data collected at Willy EM but not in SolMan.

 

when i check data collection , i got

error as -

No extractor data available, extractor likely did not run at all -DPC PUSH CORE.

ChaRM - error Urgent Change

Hello, colleagues!

 

We performed the Change Request Management tunings in Solution Manager 7.1 SP12.

Tested normal changes. Problems aren't present.

But when testing we have creations of urgent change (ZMHF) from request for change (ZMCR) there are error.

After generation of ID for urgent change, we fail in urgent change and we see an error:

 

There is no active task list in the assigned project.

Status was reset by system.

 

At creation of urgent change the status is dumped "The status set to the value 'In Development' was failed, has been reset to the value 'Created'".

At this moment in SLG1 we see an error:

 

Error creating task list H000000009, transaction cancelled

Error writing to table/TMWFLOW/PROJCTC

 

Tries to create task list for urgent change with number which already exists.

If to close maintenance cycle and to create new, the first urgent change is created correctly, but the following with the same error.

 

Permission - SAP_ALL.

Problem IT calender for non-SAP Solution Manager users

Hi!

 

I can't get the functionality for IT calender for non-SAP Solution Manager users to work.

 

I have done everything in note 1753063 IT Calendar access to non-SAP Solution Manager users (http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1753063), but it doesn't matter how I change the query, in the browser it always show:

 

Error while processing query

No results found. Display supported only for Technical Systems

 

 

Anyone got it to work?

Diagnostic Agents on a High-Availability Cluster Question

Hello,

 

We are looking to install diagnostic agents for a High-availability Cluster.

 

The system landscape is as follows:

 

  • Two physical servers on a cluster, Node01 and Node 02.
  • Node01 runs ERP central instance, Node02 runs SCM central instance
  • If Node 01 (ERP central instance) goes down, system switch over occurs, ERP then runs on Node 02.
  • Likewise, if Node 02 (SCM central instance) goes down, system switch over occurs, SCM then runs on Node 01.

 

 

I have gone over this wiki page: Diagnostics Agent and HA Support - SAP Solution Manager Setup - SCN Wiki , but still have a couple of questions:

 

My understanding is that we should install a Diagnostic Agent on both Node01 and Node02 without specifying a logical host, then enable the 'Diagnostics-on-the-fly' functionality for both nodes. For example, I will install a Diagnostic Agent (DAA) on Node01, not specify a logical hostname during the install, then after the install during the host configuration step (solman_setup -> managed system configuration -> Hosts) on step 2 (Enter System Parameters), I will enter the host of Node02.

 

Is this correct? I am wondering if it is okay to set up the diagnostic agents in this regard when failing over to a Node that is hosting another system. Is there anything else I should consider?

Solman 7.1 SP13 and SAP HANA Database SPS9 rev 96 MDC issues

Hello,

I am facing issues connecting a SAP HANA Database system to SAP Solution Manager 7.1.

I will try to explain the context and the issues :

Context :

Solution Manager 7.1 SP13 on Windows/Oracle, hostname: solman, SID : SM1

SAP HANA Database SPS 9 rev 96 on suse 11 sp3: hostname: suse11sp3, SID : ERP, with two tenant DB installed : ERP and GW1.

 

I have done the System Preparation and  the Basic Configuration of Solution Manager.

I have followed the blog : Managed System Setup of HANA in Solution Manager 7.1 by Andrea Schuhmann :

 

I have installed and updated the saphostagent on suse11sp3 : 7.20 sp 207

I have done all the configuration points for the monitoring user.

I have installed the diagnostic Agent.

I have registered the diag Agent and the hostagent in the sld (which is hosted by solman).

At this point everything is fine :

All the tests are OK :

/usr/sap/hostctrl/exe/sapdbctrl status ERP -t hdb

I have registered SAP HANA in the SLD using hdblcm with the SLDSYSTEMHOME=suse11sp3 (taken from the RZ10 of my ERP system)

 

The issues are coming now :

In the LMDB I have in the technical systems two HANA Database : ERP and GW1

When I look to ERP I have :

which seems correct but in the Software / Product Instance Tab :

No product version SAP HANA Databade appears here...

And when I try to check the technical system :

So I have tried to applied the troubleshoot tips...

First I click on More... at the technical System Level, and then I have a kind of infinite loop in solman, and the result in my IE is :

Could someone help me or point out what I doing wrong ?

Incident Management and SU53 screen

Dear Everybody,

 

As you know we can lodge an incident management request/message directly from SAP.  If we have an authorisation issue then the user will do SU53 in SAP, is it then possible that when they do the "mesage" in SAP for the incident that automatically the SU53 screen is attached or at least the information from SU53 is put into the description text box.

Relocation transport creation for unregistered system(Note.1304462)

Hi.

I'm trying to trasnport my template project from a current Solman to another. Following a note.1304464 I tried to create a relocation transport, accordingly but realized that the target system and client shoud be defined at the beginning of creation. However, both system are not connected each other and originally I planned to export and import the TR manually.

 

Is there other way to resolve it? In the note. it says I need to run a report, RSOLAR_PROJSTRUCT_SET_SRCSYSTEM for a manual adjustment. Is it all that I have to do once I import the TR to a new Solman?

Configurations for SMS notification - ITSM

Hi Experts,

 

Please suggest the needed configurations to send the SMS to support team in ITSM when incident is created. SCOT configuration is done and SMS is tested successfully from SBWP.  Maintained Mobile number in BPs as well. Do any other configurations to be maintain to trigger the SMS from ITSM.

I am prototyping ChaRM with cCTS enabled. I have a transport of copies that I want to move to the QA system. However, the approval is missing. I cannot figure out how to approve the request. Has anyone done this before?

Hi everyone,

 

I installed Solution Manager 7.1 SPS4, and now I am doing post installation steps. I am following checklist from installation guide:

Now I am on a step 10, apply latest kernel an Support Package stacks. My question is: should I perform system preparation i basic configuration in solman_setup before SPS upgrade (latest SPS is 13) ? Or should I do it after upgrade?

Email notification for conflicts in ChaRM

Hi ,

 

Is it possible to get a email notification for CSOL or DGP conflicts that are ignored in ChaRM?

 

Basically we wanted to notify the developer who has locked the object originally about a ignored conflict that a change happening for his object in other project.

 

I have configured CSOL & DGP for enhanced retrofit with ChaRM, but thought this would be a useful if we have an notification of email about the conflicts ignored.

 

I am aware this is not available in standard, any suggestions and help regarding customization to achieve this is appreciated.

How to add 3rd party non-SAP system to a ChaRM project?

Hi everyone,

 

how can I add a 3rd party non-SAP system to a Solution Manager SOLAR project for use with ChaRM General Changes?

 

The situation so far:

 

We are already using ChaRM for our SAP landscape successfully (with Urgent and Normal Changes).

 

Now we want to use the General Change for some of our 3rd party non-SAP applications (without transport management). I couldn't find any documentation on this topic and it is not working out of the box.

 

What I did so far:

  • in SLD configuration
    • created a new custom product/software component version in SLD
  • in transaction LMDB
    • created a new technical system,
    • created a new product system
    • created a new logical component
    • assigned all these and the custom product from sld
  • with transaction IB_GEN / IB52
    • generated new IBase component
    • and edited the description

 

In ChaRM component selection the new IBase components are visible when adding a new change AND no solar project is assigned.If I assign a project first, the components won't appear in the search help.

 

I already tried to add the new defined logical component in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN for the specific project. But I cannot find the logical component in the search dialog - most likely because it is not assigned to one of the valid SAP software product components. Also when I look for the new product (system) in SMSY I cannot find it. When I use the "chosse object" dialog and select my new "product system" there is an error message: "The product system has no valid product assignment."

 

What to do now?

  • How to adjust the system/product configuration in LMDB / SLD?
  • How to add the logical component to the SOLAR / ChaRM project in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN?
  • When added, do I have have to check the mark "relevant for changes" in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN for the logical component?

 

Any help appreciated.

ICT_SERVICE_DESK_API requestor and provider GUIDS

Hi all!! im using service definition ICT_SERVICE_DESK_API

 

I need to create from 3rd party service desk, an incident in Solman.

So Requestor here is 3rd party system e.g. SOAPui ver. 4.5.1

and Provider is Solman.

 

There is Function RequestSystemGuid it returns GUID of the system. If i launch this request from SOAPui(requestor) it returns systemguid XXX and this guid = SOLMAN guid( checked in my solman table ICT_SYSGUID.

But How i can get SOAPui's GUID??? In my example SOAPui are not connected to solman directly, so in SOLMAN there is no information about SOAPui and i don't need it!

 

So now i can't get ( SOAPui ) Requestor's GUID...

Is it mandatory to connect system to solman and then take GUID from table ICT_SYSGUID or where else i can get it ??? help plz.
