EEM impact after solman upgrade from 701 to 710 SP08

Hello ,

 

We are planning to upgrade Solution Manager system from 701 to 710 SP08.

 

We have configured EEM functionality on solution manager system. Is there any impact after solman upgrade on EEM ?  Is there any manual step need to perform after upgrade completed. Current version of EEM agent version is 27. Do we need to upgrade EEM agent ?

 

Please provide us your expert view.

SMSY: Missing clients under Product Systems/ERP after job LANDSCAPE_FETCH

Hi all!

 

Scenario:

 

NW 7.01 SP10

SolMan 4.0 SP28

 

From time to time we are missing client entries in transaction SMSY under Product Systems/ERP/SAP ECC Server after the job LANDSCAPE_FETCH. This behavior is completly erratic. Affected systems are changing and the time period when it happens is not constantly.

 

What we find out is, that the affected systems have no entry in the table SMSY_SYST_CLIENT with "VERSION = ACTIVE". This entry was there before. But why was it be deleted by job LANDSCAPE_FETCH/program RSGET_SMSY?

 

Any help welcome!

Solution Manager monitoring and reporting capabilities

Hi,

 

We have a Solution Manager 7.1 system. We are monitoring a mixture of ERP6 AIX and Linux systems. Management would like us to generate monthly reports that show database growth, cpu utilization, response times of specific individual core transactions during core business hours, and total dialog response time during core business hours of the client systems. The idea is to capture and store all of the requuired data in Solution Manager and generate reports from the data on a monthly basis.

I'm trying to understand the scope of the request, given Solution Manager's capabilities. Is this something that can be accomplished by configuring predefined metrics? Will user exits or other coding have to be written to capture the required information (especially capturing response times of a certain group of transactions, but only for certain hours of the day).

Dear Gurus,

 

when i run upgrade solman 7.0-->solman 7.1

-MS SQL Server 2008

Error " Error while calling Diagnostics setup web service. Check note 1822831"




Detail-->Shown-->"CX_AI_SYSTEM_FAULT : SOAP:1.007 SRT: Unsupported xstream found: ("HTTP Code 401 : Unauthorized")"




-but I checked  note 1822831,ResolvedbythenButthis does not solvethe problem.



what is happening here. please explain that what i should do.

My understanding is that the SAP Solution Manager Diagnostics Agent (SMD) installation on managed systems should be able to connect and feed data to the Wily Introscope EM without any additional Wily Introscope agent insalls, is this correct?

n-1 for SAP Solution Manager (??)

Hi Friends,

 

I was going through a document which overviews New Enhancements with SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SP10 for ITSM, While compared to SP05 there is much more; which has come.

So far, I am under impression that while reccomending a SAP product (New Installation or upgrade) to customer an ideal situation is reccomend a product with SP Level (n-1) e.g. If fresh SolMan 7.1 needed; install SolMan 7.1 SP09 (If SP10 is latest available i.e. to keep up with n-1). Similarly for upgrade if having 7.0 ehp1, upgrade it to SolMan 7.1 SP09 (If SP10 is latest available i.e. to keep up with n-1).

 

However I felt strongly not for all other SAP Products but for SAP Solution Manager when compared 7.1 SP05 (even SP08) to SP10 this will not work. When it comes to reccomending SolMan 7.1, SP10 directly needed to be reccomended. Below example is one reason encouraging enough the thought process which i have while writing how n-1 is not making sense.

 

In Change Request Management :

 

SolMan 7.1 SP10 introduces Enhanced Approval Management & Substitution Feature (and many other things as well) e.g. There will be additional security and authorizations check when an approver is doing approvals, in short only authorized approvers will be able to approve changes, not anyone else.

Now, This is not available in SolMan 7.1 SP05 (By roles and authorizations can be controlled however remains manual task to be done) as the standard delivery as like SP10 mentioned above, Also I did not come across any other documentation which suggests that it is available in Sp08 or SP09.

Thus in my opinion when comes to SolMan 7.1 instead thinking of (n-1) reccomending a latest available SP level for available release is rather appropriate.

 

Please comment if you think differently or to put some light on the other side i.e. (n-1)

Managed System Configuration Introscope Agent step fails with NullPointerException

Hi,

 

On Solman 7.1 sp08, diagnostic agent on the remote server has established the connection with the Solman. On the 6th Step of managed system configuration ( Configure Automatically), execution of Introscope Agent Adapter activity fails with a NullPointerException. Please see the log attached.

 

Error message is "Failed to configure Introscope HostAdapter Agent for remote_host_name !! Exception : java.lang.NullPointerException".

 

Wily Introscope on the host of Solman is working, and the agent at the remote host is also working. All other configuration steps are succesfull but the only error appeared for this activity.

 

I get the attached piece of log from the details of activity part on the managed system configuration page.

 

What other log files can I check to troubleshoot the problem?

 

Or are there any possible quick solutions regarding this problem?

Incident Management App - SP10?

Hi,

 

SAP has updated the incident management app a little while ago and I am wondering if anyone knows if it require SP10 to run it? In the updated technical documentation it now refers to SP10. But why launch a new app, that require a setup that very few customers have?

 

I had a demo setup on this, which is not working anymore with the new version of the app.

Hopefully someone knows this.


Author of the ServiceDesk message - SOLMAN

Hello!

 

I would like to inquire whether anybody faced such problem in Solution Manager:

 

When user creates ServiceDesk message from R3 or BW system - author of the message defines correctly (username). But, when somebody is trying to create ServiceDesk message from SSM (Solution manager system) - author of the message defines as SOLMAN. May be we miss some settings?

Hi experts,

 

there are strange results in Self-Diagnosis of our Solman7.1 SP10

No English definition was found for the status profile SMOR0001

I go into tx CRMBS02 to check the status profile SMOR0001 and see that it has only DE language and empty name.

I found the name of the profile in SAP note http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1793311

Its name is Incident Partner Header (VAR)

 

Besides I'm fully confused by following description

With Solution Manager 7.1 SP5 the IBase contains object components instead of text components to represent technical systems.

With the new concept, certain access sequences for the determination of business partner are not working anymore:

- In case the assigned component is an object component, the system searches in the I-Object only.

- Only for text components the IBase is considered.


Is It only in my Solman?

Have anybody the similar situation?

Cannot establish connection to SAP Host agent webservice

Hi,

 

We are getting below error during managed system configuration:

 

The definition of Technical System '<SID>~ABAP' is not correct: '<SID>~ABAP': Operating System 'Linux~2.6.32-220.el6.x' of Host '<instance name>' must have at least oneSoftware Component Version

Outside Discovery issue: refer to SAP Note 1611483

Managed systems setup | Managed System Definition Status (post setup) | SYSTEM =<SID>~ABAP

 

 

In the landscape browser the SAP host agent status is "Error":

 

PhysicalHostPushJob:Cannot establish connection to SAP Host agent webservice. The diagnostics agent os user daaadm is not authorized to establish a trusted connection to SAP Host agent, check the service/admin_users property of associated profile.) (SAPHostAgent version - N.B. This check does not validate all functionalities. See SAP Note 1365123 for latest required version)

 

Failed to persist host <instance name>. Check host status for details.

 

Cannot create host '<instance name>'

 

The SAP Host agent version is 720 patch 146. Also, the service/admin_users is maintained in host_profile. SAP Host agent and DAA is running fine.

while trying to performed automatically Set Up Extractor Framework on SAP Solution Manager Basic configuration, I get this Error Message

 

A failure occured while connecting to ABAP stack................
Parameter containing a user ID is missing: neither user nor user alias nor external ID nor SSO ticket nor X.509 certificate is specified

 

Please help mo to solve this Problem.

Renew Maintenance Certificate in Market Place automatically

Hello Friends

 

I am having a SOLMAN 7.1 system and Automatic Maintenance Certificate Distribution is configured around 6 months back by someone else.

One system is in RED status in the "Received Maintenance Certificate" column and seen that the Maintenance Certificate is not renewed in Marketplace.

I can click on Renew Maintenance Certificate and the issue would be resolved. But can we automate this task?

Retrofit for same SID systems

Hi,

 

Is is possible to use retrofit for below system details where SID is same for parallel Devlopment & Quality system

 

Maintenance Landscape: DE1 -> QT1 -> PR1

Upgrade landscape: DE1 -> QT1

 

SID is same for Devlopment & Quality in both landscapes.

 

Is it really necessary to have different SIDs for upgrade systems, is there any impact in solution manager.

managed system configuration

Hi

 

I am working on solution manager 7.1 sp10 and successfully configured system preparation and basic configuration steps.

 

I have also configured managed system configuration for solution manager itself and its done successfully.

 

Now I am trying to do managed system configuration for our erp system I get error in configuration check

 

 

Actually erp system is installed as distributed i.e application is on one server and database is on another server. Both servers have separate diagnostic agents installed and properly connected to solution manager.

 

Any one has idea why its giving this error?

Buisness Promcess monitoring on SOlman 7.1

Good Morning Experts

i have activate the monitoring object in Solman but i noticed that when job log in the mnaged system is reporting the foloowing 'eror'

No Open monid found for the application monitoring data collection

 

i checked in solman and i regenerated the object and reactivated but i still get the same entry for the job BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_1

 

can i get some help please
