The basic error is that during Managed System Configuration of the Java stack of my Solution Manager system -- and for any Java system, for that matter -- in Step 6 "Create Users" I have a persistent error status of "User Not in validity period" for the SAPSUPPORT user.  The user already exists, because it was created successfully during the ABAP portion of the Managed System Config.  Furthermore, the "Update Existing User" action did successfully assign the three Java roles (SAP_JAVA_NWADMIN_CENTRAL_READONLY, SAP_JAVA_SUPPORT, and SAP-J2EE-ENGINE.SAP_JAVA_SUPPORT).  I have confirmed that the SAPSUPPORT user, the SOLMAN_ADMIN user, my own user account, and every other possibly relevant service user account I can think of is active, valid, not locked, etc.  Yet, still I cannot get past this error.

This is a SolMan 7.1 sps10 system, so the corrections from Notes 1748202 and/or 1684720 are already in place.  Furthermore, I have already created a role with Spml_Read_Action and Spml_Write_Action and assigned it to my own user and SOLMAN_ADMIN, as described in Note 1647157.  Every discussion thread or Note I've found in searching indicates these should solve the problem, but I still have the problem.

So, has anyone run into this and resolved it?  Or have ideas of where else to look for the mysterious validity period?

I am facing the following problem in while running setup wizard for the Managed system

My solution manager is on  EHP1 and  SCS is 40 and instance no is 39. Managed system scs no 00 and instance is 01. My SMD instance no is 98.

The Managed systems are attached to Solution Manager using P4 Dispatcher port 53904 and MS HTTP port 8140.

During the Managed systems setup. I get the following error.

At least one instance P4 port could not be retrieved from Message Server.
Please check message server settings, or fill-in the missing P4 port(s)

Then it give me a option to enter the P4 port, irrespective of what i enter, it picks the 8140 and throws the below error.

What i don't understand is why is Solution manager system trying to connect to the managed system using port 8140 where it should be 8101 or 50104. Do these ports be mentioned anywhere, does it pick these from any of the configuration?

I have checked the setting in transaction SMMS on both managed and managing system. They ports and settings seem to be fine. even logon data in SMMS seems to be fine.  I am completely struck here and have no idea where this port is getting picked from.

After renaming a test Solution Manager, which is a copy from an existing System, Change Management Tab is not visible in the a Project Attributes.

Before the SID renaming, the tab was visible, but after chaning the name to SMT, it no longer appear.

When accessing  SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN transaction, under System Landscape, there are only three tabs instead of four

Some logical relation is missing? Any idea where can I verify why?

Hello, We are running  solution manager 7.1  SP08 on HP_UX , I am updating sapjvm 4.1 from patch 16 to  patch 38, I download the  SAR file

SAPJVM4_38-10009693.SAR to a seperate  directory, I am using SUM  1.0.9.5

I get  past the part where i manaully select the file  where SAPJVM4_38-10009693.SAR is located . SUM then continues and  displays an empty selection screen, I click on the  html   TargetversionReport.html and it says

SAPJVM HPUX_IA64

(not present in the system)

Vendor sap.com                         

It finds the target version SAR file SAPJVM4_38-10009693.SAR ok

then says  '004 Component sap.com/SAPJVM HPUX_IA64 cannot be installed    full log at bottom  last line says

I am configuring Local SLD in solman (solman_ setup) after upgrade to 7.1  I have given port of ABAP ICM HTTP port number (8000) by mistake instead of solman dispatcher HTTP port no (icm/HTTP/j2ee_X value).I am finding that "select SLD" entry is in green status and when I am clicking on it in edit mode to correct the port entry it gives "500 connection timed out error" after 5 min.Can any one help me on this??

Hello,

after installation diagnostic agent on satellite system (linux) didn't start, so I tried manually.

But agent doesn't come up although startup script tells everything is fine.

"sapcontrol -prot NI_HTTP -nr 98 -function GetProcessList" gives status "grey, stopped".

Note 1316652 didn't help, file dev_boostrap is not available on linux.

How can I solve problem?

As per note 1032461 i downloaded and copied the file, But RFC is still showing error. While executed the command "find "LIBRFC" librfc32.dll" and getting the below error.

As above said in Note:1447900, i cannot find the below files from support portal.

Apply the librfc 7.20 patches level 11 for Windows platforms:

We are actually migrating and Upgrading an existing Solution Manager 7.01 to 7.1

Since we are performing tests on this Sandbox system, we would like to replicate CHARM configuration and execute full integration tests against managed systems.

There is the actual Productive Solution Manager (SSM), which manages an BW Landscape and a ERP Landscape

If we configure CHARM this Sandbox Solution Manager upgraded to 7.1 (SMT), to manage the same actual BW and ERP Landscape, the configuration would be affected on the original Systems?

In other words, Can we have two CHARM Clients (Test and Productive) to manage BW and ERP Landscape without affecting each other configuration

On the Sandbox CHARM, we only want to test configuration and perform a Change Request Cycle only for testing.

Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated.

our client has just upgraded their Solution Manager 7.1 to SP 10. Now that we have the software component CPRXRPM installed, we would like to try PPM with ChaRm. But we have some questions :

- BEFORE SPRO configuration for ChaRm usage, is there any setup to do for "activating" SAP PPM ? I saw the configuration guide for SAP PPM 5.0 but it is not talking at all about what need to be activated only for SolMan usage.

- Actually, our customer is not using the JAVA stack of SolMan. Is it an issue ? Or is it only needed for Adobe Document Services (ADS) when generating project report status ?

I am using a Solution mainly as an inventory of the Business Processes run within the company.

Basically, the hierarchy follows the logic described below (no genuine information here for confidentiality purposes):

• FI Master Data (Business Scenario level)
• FI-AP
• FI-AR
  • Customer Account clearing processing (Business Process level)
  • Customer Factoring
  • Customer Credit memo
    • FB75 (Business Process Step level)
    • FB03
    • Z...
• SD Master Data
• and so on....

Please let me specify that we did not use the standard Business Process Repository provided by SAP, but created our own hierarchy instead.

I would like to enrich the classification at least at the Business Process level by assigning attributes to them (Business Scenario and Business Process Step levels would be a bonus).

For example: criticality, functional domain (logistics, finance, etc.), local/global, etc.

However I cannot see anything of the sort in the structure of the B.P.: it just seems to be a container for the B.P. steps, Documentation, Tests Cases, Configuration, and so on.

All I can find is 3 attributes, which are useless for me:

• Status (Planned or Productive Production)
• Process availability
• organizational Area

I do find attributes, and even keywords - which would be perfect because they are configurable - but only at the documentation level.

Do you know of any standard way of assigning such attributes or keywords at the Business Process level?

Or, is there is none, as anyone encountered the same requirement, and if so, have you find a proper work-around to fulfil it?

We have a requirement for our Solution Manager's service desk. I need the correct approach to the following scenario:

When I select the sold-to party field (e.g BP 142), then I use the advanced search for "Customer Item" is should filter the items of only the BP that I select, but this is NOT what is happening. It's search for all BP's items.

What is the correct approach to do this?

Do I have to modify the BOL object Product, or I have to create a "Z" Search Help?

When i Start my solution manager system i get a message in the MMC "msg_server.exe running but not responding" and nothing strats.

Only when i manually starts second instance does the SAP system start.

Lots has been written about this topic.  This thing is so complicated.  I know less than nothing about this.  Very simple question to start with.  In my Solution Manger/ITSM/Service Desk, I don't have a clue what I should call it, how do I see what is used to determine the support/service team being selected.

I'm not asking for a bunch of SAP Notes or endless reams of documentation that don't make a lick of sense.  Very simply, can someone say how I may see what the thing is using to select the message processor or the support/service team to send the email to in my system.

More info.  I added a new organization unit.  The component used on the ITSM was created long ago by a SAP consultant and is just now being used. The other components are working.  This one is not.  Like the system doesn't know the component exits and the message processor is being defaulted.

I know this action is being used.  AI_SDK_TEAM_MAIL_DET

But I don't know how the thing knows to use that action.

Is it possible to restrict the Authorization to 'Delete Row' option in the Project documentation/ General documentation ? We tried Authorization trace and no Authorization object checks are hit during the 'Delete Row' action.

Has anybody achieved this before?

Also is it possible to restrict the UPLOAD file option but not the Check in/Check out option? It looks like the Value '60' in S_IWB controls both and not checked separately.
